Ladies, don’t read this one before trying to sleep

Greetings from Dallas. Upon my arrival at my mom’s house Sunday night I was given many copies of the D Magazine in which my interview appears. Fortunately, it is formatted better than the web version. Perhaps more interesting however, is the cover of this month’s issue. There is a photo of an attractive 40’s-ish (looking) woman and the following text:

The Rise and Fall of

Her husband cheated on her.

Her Park Cities real estate empire collapsed.

The IRS is after her.

Can she survive every woman’s nightmare?

I think this is an important article. Next to maybe domestic abuse and genital mutilation, I’d say having your ritzy real estate empire collapse is indeed every woman’s nightmare. I know the thought of it has cost me precious hours of sleep. What will I do with my various colored pantsuits? How will I occupy my time on Sundays from 1-3 if I’m not burning sugar cookie candles at open houses?

I love my D Magazine, but sometimes they are a bit out of touch…it was a good article, though, even though it’s hard to feel too sorry for her.
